Face Lift in London UK
As we get older, our facial skin becomes less elastic and the muscles underneath slacken. Exposure to the sun becomes clearly visible. Our faces become less well defined. Procedures including subcutaneous injections and microdermabrasion have little effect in cases of advanced skin ageing.
Planning a face lift operation
Each patient receives two consultations with Mr. Komath. Individual aesthetic outcome expectations are discussed and the procedures and results of different surgical methods are explained.
Not all patients will be offered surgery. It is vital that patients communicate their surgical outcome expectations as precisely and in as much detail as possible at this stage. The treatment is painless and is performed under a general anaesthetic. After surgery patients need to stay in hospital for one to four days.
Complications after face lift surgery
Although infrequent, the risks and complications of face- lift surgery include:
- Facial asymmetry
- Neurological dysfunction (loss of muscle function resulting in an inability to smile or blink or altered sensation), which is usually temporary
- Widened or thickened scar
- Loss of hair (around the incision site) or altered hair line behind the ear.
