Fees & Insurers

A guide to our fees. We welcome both self-funding patients and those using private medical insurance, from across the UK and Europe.

Self-funding patients

Initial consultation — £300
Follow-up consultation — £250

Consultation fees cover Mr Komath’s time, examination and advice. Blood tests, imaging and any procedure are quoted and billed separately (see below).

Imaging & investigations (where clinically indicated)

Accurate diagnosis often needs detailed imaging of the joint. Where it is clinically indicated, a focused functional MRI and CT package, together with any necessary blood tests, is up to £1,250. Imaging is arranged only when it will genuinely inform your diagnosis or treatment — never as a routine add-on.

Surgery & procedures

If you need a procedure, we will give you a clear, up-to-date quote beforehand. Costs vary with the procedure and the hospital, and are billed by the hospital where you are treated (all are CQC-registered).

Patients using private medical insurance

Mr Komath is recognised by all major UK insurers, including AXA Health, Bupa, Bupa International, Vitality, WPA and Aviva (and others — please ask if your insurer isn’t listed).

Before your first appointment, please obtain pre-authorisation from your insurer and bring your insurer name, membership/policy number and authorisation code. Check your outpatient limit, as it needs to cover the consultation plus any scans or tests, and note any excess on your policy, which you would settle yourself. If you need an operation, the treating hospital arranges authorisation with your insurer.

Payment

Self-funding consultation fees are payable on the day. Bupa International and overseas patients are welcome — please contact us to arrange payment in advance.

Fees shown are a guide and may be reviewed periodically. This page is for information and is not a quote for a specific course of treatment; we will confirm costs with you directly.
